How about a medieval style shield, with the SE4 redstar logo and the shrapnel logo on it.
Depending on how well they shrink down.
A redstar icon on a silver/gold-lined shield?

SpecOps should be a rank indicator, like the sergeant's stripes. A tiny spiral galaxy (with metallic finish) would be nice.
