Re: Shepherds of Creation signup
I'd like to play Bolthorn (Jotunheim), in Game 3, if possible.

I'll be happy to join in as Nergal of Abysia in game 3 if it's still free.

Re: Shepherds of Creation signup
I'm not trying to be overly picky, Kristoffer, but you misspelled my name. The last name is h-e-b-e-r-t. There's no 'r' before the b. I understand, as it's not a familiar name and it's similar to a familiar one, and I don't always make a point, but if someone wants to message me on here, they won't find me that way.

Re: Shepherds of Creation signup
Now that we have this great new advertisement banner on the forums, do you think we could un-sticky this thread and maybe move it to the Multiplayer forum?

Re: Shepherds of Creation signup
I have a group ready to sign-up but I have a question. The press release says:
Quote:
Players will not have access to the map file, they will have to set forth and explore with their pretenders.
|
However, the map file is available on the mod page! I'm confused...

No, you probably don't have it! A dom2-map consists of a graphics file (.tga) and mapfile (.map). The .tga is required for playing, while the .map is only required to set up a new game. The downloadable shepherdsmap.zip contains only a faked .map file, which does not hold any unusal information about the scenario (just neighborship relations), but allows to play the map without any features of the scenario.
Illwinter will setup a game for you using the proper .map file, so this is nothing to worry about. The reason is, that players cannot simply look into the mapfile to see how the scenario is scripted (e.g. which province has which sites, defending commanders having precious items, preste-castles, pre-set villains for the central AI, etc.). So this is done to keep some surprises for everyone!
