Re: Armadillo - new game (recruiting)
Seems Mictlöan and Tien Chi are still unpopular. Since I can't imagine what would make Mictlan attractive I think I'll go for them.
There need to be some laws in this armadillo game.
All hail the Lawgiver!
I'll start with banning blood magic I think. Seems reasonable.

What a splendid serversite!
Nice work Llamabeast. I'm already feeling inclined to add a llama as national summon for Mictlan

I'll take T'ien Ch'i, contingent on llamabeast's player number preferences, of course.

Well I do enjoy playing with T'ien Ch'i, but even crossbowmen and spies can be boring after a while.

Does anyone have any thoughts, or know of any nice maps with provinces in the 300-400 range? I've not got much experience of setting up large games, so opinions are very welcome.

Well, there's allways the Faerun Map. (Which comes with heavily defended VP provinces, if not tampered with) There's a 324 and a 424 provinces version. I don't know of any map inbetween those two values.
P.S. And a big kudos for your remarkably lifelike topdown view armadillo.

Re: Armadillo - new game (recruiting)
I'll join if you decide more is better. How about Bandar Log?

Re: Armadillo - new game (recruiting)
Okay then, how about we go with a crowded Glory of the Gods (274 provinces)? If we get all 22 players, that's about 12.5 provinces each - the same as Gandalf's 4-player games, which generally seem good fun to me. Is everyone happy with that?

Unless I've misunderstood, I don't think Edi wants us to use those, since he's working hard on new and improved versions (does anyone know if I've got this right?).

That's certainly what I've been feeling they're missing.

12.5 provinces each suits the lightning quick feathered ones of Caelum...

The original Faerun Map does not have VPs, only some provinces with armies and special sites. The VP version of Faerun was done by me for the FaerunPBEM game, and it worked not bad. But the smaller Glory of the Goods Map is good (as its hard to manage a 100 provinces empire)
