Asterix is IMHO one of the best comics there is. Perhaps not always very fun, but very educational. It is incredibly well researched and full of historical details. The reconstruction of Alexandria in Asterix and Cleopatra is as far as I know one of the best representations of that city to date. If you like dominions because of historcal paraphrases you must appreciate Asterix.

I apreciate it because I have loads of good memories of reading Asterix in my aunt's attic as a kid.

A little offtopic. I'm glad that this game has a wide array of features and stuff. Like you have some things that in other parts of the world could be washed down like nudity, god personification and blood sacrifices.
Take an example on Age of Wonders 2 where their gods (they are cool) couldn't be named Gods and where before release changed to "spirits" for censorship cautions(yuck!).
In Dominions races and paths of magic are well balanced and rich in variances.
