I think it's definitely time to write off the no-shows. They haven't given us the courtesy of letting us know what's going on. I don't think they need the courtesy of having the game held for them.
Maybe we should change the thread title to looking for x players?

Re: Chinchilla - Game for new/newish players (open
Okay, Tien-Chi in this Chinchalla game it is, then. I'm at work, so when I get home later tonight I'll create and email a Pretender.
I do have some experience playing a game with a coworker--but we have only played as allies against the computer. So I know all about how the turns work in MP, but this will be my first game playing against devious, manipulative, fiendishly intelligent *humans*. I'm (mostly) not joking when I say I expect to lose, and badly. I haven't even read up on the forums to check tactics. I really should...

Looking forward to this.
I am recently into 2 MP games, there is lots of good info and strategy in the forums. Searching by what you want/race etc. works well.
Who you calling devious!?

Re: Chinchilla - Game for new/newish players (open
Pretender sent, llamabean. I assume I'm still on for this game as Tien-Chi?
One request: could you please *please* PLEASE turn renaming on? Tien-Chi has so many magic path options, I've taken to naming my mages for their paths, because it was driving me *NUTS* having to click on each. and. every. mage. I. built. to find the one(s) with the path I needed.
Please. : )
Edit: Heh. And then I read up above that Tien-Chi is considered relatively weak for MA MP. Anyone know why? I'm curious, because I found them quite strong in SP play... (I'll still be playing them in this game regardless, however.)

I'm guessing it might be a lack of high level mages? I'm not sure, I've never really seen them as all that weak either.
Also, if it is okay with everyone, I'd like to start quicklyish/soon.

llamabean?!
Yep, renaming's on.
Since this game's been taking forever to start, I reckon we should start now - 12-14 players was my target after all. I'll get it going in the next hour or two...
Edit: IndyPendant: Thanks for getting your pretender in so fast, that was great. I don't know why T'ien Ch'i are considered weak. I took a quick peek at them and they look quite good.

You know, you should try hitting F1. It works wonders to find just the mage that you want.

Re: Chinchilla - Game for new/newish players (open
Okay, we're starting! You should get the first turn in the next couple of minutes. Let me know if there's any problems.
I just arbitrarily decided to use the Worthy Heroes mod, because it's fun. I hope that's okay with everyone. It just adds some interesting national heroes to each nation, and makes sure every nation has some heroes. I'll attach it to this post. Just unzip it and place the contents in your dominions3/mods folder.
The first turn will have a 48 hour timer in case anything goes wrong, subsequent turns will have 24 hours. The first turn only takes about a minute though, so we definitely shouldn't need the 48 hours (unless something goes wrong, of course).
Edit: Fixed the attached mod file for the naming error I mention further down in the thread.

Inevitably I bungled the start. Hang on a few minutes...
