Re: Screenies!
This must be the worst possible situation with shapeshifters and their alternate forms and how items are handled.

Yep, I think that the items shouldn't be destroyed if you arent in a province with a lab...this is a bit too hardcore.

Re: Screenies!
If I change a Skratti's shape from the wolf to a non-sneaking form while in an enemy province (assuming it is possible), what will happen?

Re: Screenies!
I wish that they were either merely not active in said form, or could be made not-active instead of dropped with a spell - similar to dedication of items in White Wolf's Werewolf pnp RPG.

Re: Screenies!
Yes - a shapeshifter should keep the same items upon shifting back. Otherwise, good items get lost, while bad (cursed) items become trivial because a shapeshifter can lose them.
( Of course, there is the literary traditional of shapeshifters winding up naked, ie werewolves etc, but it really doesn't fit a game where dragons (size six) can share the same helm as a hoburg (size 1).)

Re: Screenies!
Perhaps a compromise where if the shapeshifter flees from battle he loses the items, but if victorious he can retrieve them...

Re: Screenies!
I don't understand what's wrong with the picture. Ok, so (supposed) fire god is surrounded by snow. So what ? It makes sense that ancient Slavs, who lived largely in cold lands (cold scale -1 at least), worshipped fire gods. It shouldn't be a suprise that they saw fire (warmth!) as beneficial to homestad, cooking meals, smithing... Sun/fire makes winter go away.
By the way: there were some slavic supernatural entities associated with winter, too. There's Grandfather Frost in RUssia (spelling depends on country, Dziadek Mróz in Poland), and winter itself was commonly depicted as (not so friendly) woman.
I still intend to make a pagan slavic mod, and my implementation will have both cold -1 and focus on fire. Contradicting ? Not really. I may add some baltic (and other legeds) if I run out of ideas. The main problem seems to be finding enough information about ancient slavic military.

The contradiction was that the picture of someone who is probably Svarog, a Fire god, is used for a Father of Winters. The original picture fits a god of winter very well. The story and theme of Svarog don't fit a god of winter and cold and water who grows stronger in extreme cold.
It's good to know you're still continuing your mod.

Agreed. You could use some Ostrogoth, Dacian and later Russian elemants and merge them. Try some Osprey books. Rome's Enemies (1) is about Germans and Dacians.

Re: Screenies!
Need some screens from those fortunate enough to be playing already (still some hours before I can go home and play the demo...)!
How about, let's see, some early game map shots as you scout out your area and fortify (or attack ) nearby provinces.
Or, your first strong combat unit. Or your first mercenary
