OT thoughts about punishment for the BLaster dude
I haven't seen anything lately about that kid they nailed that helped spread the BLaster virus. Now, granted I am an old geezer, but I am really tired of these punks F-ing with my computer, if I want something loaded, I will load it.
So what do you all think this kid will get, this seemed to be one of the worse virus, alot of money and head aches. I know that this might be a slippery slope, but that kid since he is 18 be sent to Cuba with all the other terrorists, make him coll his heels a few years then maybe be given a trial, a military one.
More than likely he will be given a slap on the wrist.

Re: OT thoughts about punishment for the BLaster dude
Didn't we use to send people to "The Dry Tortugas?" I think that is now what they call the Cayman Islands. I am probably wrong about that. Anyway they sent the doctor that gave aid to John Wilkes Booth there. We need some sort of penal colony island thingy to send people to. It just seems like there isn't much of a deterent anymore for small but costly crimes. I don't think he deserves a butt raping federal facility but you know maybe we really should start making examples of these people!

Oh I think 10 years in a crappy state lock up with some big pervert of a cell mate called Bubba Butt would be good for him

I heard a line from a movie: "It doesn't matter how ugly your cell mate is, you'll be facing the other direction anyway!"

I don't condone what the idiot did, but the one they got is a scapegoat. I read that he was only responsible for a small fraction of the virus spreading. But now that they've got this kid, how much do you want to bet we'll never find the one who really started it?

I read that it had been tracked to a mainland subnet belonging to APN. If it came out of China, we will never be able to run the a$$ (government?) to ground.

Well then better start sending all the sneaky corporations to jail then. I too hate crap on my computer but 100% of the crap that gets into my computer is from scummy spyware, spam and such. Not to mention the crap MS puts on with windows that I don't want.

No doubt more time than if he'd gone down to a bar got drunk and beat the living crap out of someone and killed him. Gotta love the legal system.

Hmm I wonder how much money was lost. One thing is certain is that companies always totally exagerate the amoutn lost by such things. Ever hear how much some companies claimed to have lost as a result of Keven Mitnick's hacking? It's a f-ing joke.
