Ahh 3 front war somebody please help me and give me advice for victory
okay....I am in a 3 way war against that of Jraenar Imperium,Amon Ke re Continuim, A non-treaty war with the Xiati, and at war with the Nut-rok (whatever) peoples... Now due to your experience who is the greatest hreat and I should concentrate on first, i have been concentrating on the Xiati,, but considering they are so far away and the fact that my battle fleet sent against them has been recently destroyedm after taking out three planets...I have been slowing down on them....I think the Jraenar...oh what are some good ship configs..please help or the EA will fall!!

The Jraener use a lot of seekers don't they? If so make sure you have ships with plenty of point defence when you take them on. You could make special ships with lots of point defence to add to your fleet but I usually just put a couple on every ship because your ships experience level will go up a lot when they destroy the missles. This will make your beam weapons much more accurate. Find weapons with a lot of range. phased poloron beams are a good choice if you don't have organic or crystalurgy special abilities. I usually have a mix of beam and missle weapons on my ships so each can handle any threat but some make specialized ships for beam and missle. Either way works. Also since you are playing the EA you should try using some fighters. Missles can't target them so if you fight against a missle race they will not be able to hurt them until they research point defence (which they seem to do earlier since the patch). There are many different ways to win in this game thats what makes it fun someone else could give you advice which will work equally well and be completely different than mine.

Remember, the AI is too stupid to give anyone a good game. It is badly broken. The game is fatally flawed.
The computer, unfortunately, doesn't read this list, eh???????
Try to make a diplomatic peace with one or two to get it down to a reasonable number. Go to a solid warp point defense with one or two with mines and orbital fortresses if possible. Then, you can pick your opponet with a little more ease and attack when ready.

Re: Ahh 3 front war somebody please help me and give me advice for victory
I totally ignore the fact that they are different AIs. I'd just find out which warp points they're coming at you from and guard those regardless of who is coming through. Park the best warships you can there and kill everything. When you've got a solid defense that they don't seem able to get through, send a fleet through the most active warp point and take the system on the other side, killing everything inside and recolonizing or invading all the worlds and locking out the warp points in that one. Repeat as often as needed.
Nearly all the AI players are helpless against seekers. You can hit and run against them in tactical combat and they just can't cope with it. Even if they have one level higher missile tech than you, if you're moving away and they're chasing you, you'll rip them apart without taking damage. 3 destroyers with 2 capital ship missiles each and some armor can hold a warp point against up to 5 pre-shield AI-controlled light cruisers usually without taking any damage at all. 5 of those destroyers should be able to wipe out an entire system before they need to refuel.
If you have boarding parties, this is a great opportunity to get some wonderful new technology and free warships. Two frigates with boarding parties and missiles should be able to guard a warp point against any unshielded or barely shielded enemy fleet of 4 or fewer light cruisers. After a few battles, you'll have a big attack force of your own to counter attack with.
I use warships over bases and fighters to defend because they can become an attack force the instant my enemy falters. Bases, satelites, mines, and fighters cannot counter attack. But they are often superior defenders, so you need to decide how aggressive you are feeling when judging which option to use.

i had muscled through an AI system, and was holding the warp point on the other side. the system wasn't so great for me, but they could breath most of the atmospheres (oxy, i think). I was not going to bother colonizing until i could get a stronger hold, but they kept sending these colony ships through the warp point I was holding. eventually I got wise and captured their colony ships instead of destroying them, and recolonized the planets with a population that could breath on them.
If you ever have the oportunity, let the AI spend its resources helping you. a resource thats spent by the AI and aids you is twice as valuable as a resource thats simply denied.

Re: Ahh 3 front war somebody please help me and give me advice for victory
Speaking of a multi front war I tried to play in a large cluster galaxy. Is there a bug with cluster galaxies set on large? I got an nine system galaxy with 16 races. that was a very eventful place. My home system was just me but almost all the other systems had 2 races. I took the first two systems by just pumping out warships and just researching weapons and ships. I went back and generated a few more large cluster galaxies and none of them were as big as a medium galaxy is this a bug?

JJPHAT, what are your current tech levels? (eg shields, armour, missiles, ship size, beams/projectiles, fighters). What sort of force (fleet size) are each of the other computer players using.
One trick I used in the mid stage of a game when I was attacked by three computer players (who were each fielding fleets containing no more than four ships) was to convert my front line transports into satellite/fighter carriers (eg small transports were given two satellite and fighter bays each, med transports were given 5 of each). The conVersions only took one turn to do and meant that I could deploy all of my defensive satellites and fighters into agressive combat. This strategy served well until I was able to deploy sufficient carriers and capital ships.
In terms of who you should go after, I believe that it is a trade off between who is the weakest vs who you have the most number of shipyards near (ie logistics/ length of supply line).
Goodluck...

umm, yes and no. large cluster galaxies work fine if you dont mess with the maximum systems value in the settings.txt however once you crank it up to a number like 250 or so, many of the quadrant types get screwy when you generate them as 'large,' especially clusters which appearently cant compute where to place all the systems. im not sure where the threshold number is, but try lowering what you have back to 100 and see if the quadrant looks normal again.
