** RELIANT model available for download **
Here's how the Reliant (Miranda Class) looks in game:
http://www.staryards.com/Images/SF_Miranda.jpg
This gorgeous model was created by Pneumonic81. I have converted her into Starfury format.
Here's where to download her:
(If the page doesn't load, try again in a minute! I have a horrible server...)

Have fun!

Re: ** RELIANT model available for download **
I have taken this beautiful ship a step further and made it a working purchaseable ship. Here are some links to screenies;
At the ship dealer
With Hardpoints shown
With firing arcs shown
Components display
And finally, in action
To get this working for you, you must first download the ship from Cleeve's site and follow step 1 of his instructions. Then download this zip file and unzip it to any, or all, campaigns you may wish to purchase this beautiful ship in(Please backup your original data first). Then, when you have enough cash, go to a shipyard and purchase (Terran, Nuetral, or Pirate, although greatest chance is at Terran).

Re: ** RELIANT model available for download **
It does look really nice. I'd have done the weapon arcs differently, though. The saucer mounts (following SFB, anyway) would be 180 degrees or less, with the front ones foward 180, sides as 180 at most, but probably from directly forward to about 120 degrees back from the front due to the hull obstruction from the built-up rear saucer. I don't know if the torpedo launcher can be modded in SF, but as we know from Wrath of Khan, the torpedoes could fire both fore and aft, coming from the center part of the top arch protrusion thingie.

Oooh, bitmaps are going to destroy your download limits.
Better change those into GIF or JPG or PNG before your host cuts you off

Very, very nice ship there!
I wonder if we could get Aaron to modify the firing point code enough to make the weapon have multiple points to choose from (take the closest one to the enemy) so that the large phaser strips on some ships can fire accurately.
(And one torpedo component could fire either forward or back from the rail)

Ooo, multiple texture files. Didn't know Starfury could handle that! Now to figure out how to do it in Lithunwrap..would make my life so much easier.
EDIT: the files I grabbed don't seem to work. No purchase screen bitmaps.

Re: ** RELIANT model available for download **
You could add two heavy weapons slots for torpedoes on the pod, one facing fore or aft, with 45° arcs - or just one 360° slot, but that might look silly if it firing the torpedoes to targets left and right of the ship.
I like PvK's phaser suggestions.

OOPS, forgot about those.
To get the purchase screen portraits, download this zip file and extract it to your Images/Portraits directory.

All weapons hardpoints can have modded firing arcs, however, it would seem that Starfury is hardcoded with 45 degree multiples (i.e., 45, 90, 135, etc.) and a single contiguous arc per hardpoint. It would be nice to give a single hardpoint both forward and rearward firing capabilities.
I can also say that I was kinda going for coolness rather than realism. I think I will change the arcs of the lasers. I seem to remember many battle scenes where phasers fired from a ring, either above or below the saucer, with a 270 degree arc. If you play with this ship, you will also notice the inconsistancy of the firing points. I need to change that and have not yet figured out how.
