Are lava warriors overrated?
The seem overrated and overly expensive.
They are sacred which is nice.
But very low precision bothers me. Mine are getting slaughtered which bothers me given the amount of money it takes to get them(55 gold).

The worth of Lava Warriors seems to be pretty well tied to whatever bless effect you're using. Which ones have you tried?

Re: Are lava warriors overrated?
precision is useless to them, as they do not use missile weapons.
probably the best is to just mix them in w/ some normal abyssian heavy infantry. the Lava warriors will kill whatever they walk into (probably ), but they fatigue extremely quickly so they need to have immediate support around them

Yes, I was going to comment on that as well but I forgot. "Attack Skill" determines how often a unit hits another one in melee, while Precision is the accuracy stat for ranged weapons and spells.

Re: Are lava warriors overrated?
Hmm, I am by no means an Abysia expert, but if you use the best defensive infantry to take the inital charge from the enemy, then have your lava warriors flank in from the sides to do damage, they seem to work well.
I do recall still losing a fair amount of them, but they can really deal out some damage. To me, they seemed pretty powerful when I used them a short while back.

Re: Are lava warriors overrated?
lava warriors can kill anything if you have good enough blood blessing and a warm climate, they just need to stay alive long enough to get to the enemy.

Fire 9 blessing or water 9 blessing.
Pick your poison - both blessings make Lava warriors deadly.

Re: Are lava warriors overrated?
I don't think they are overrated. I like them quite a bit, and use them when I can, but they are nothing to shout about in the games I play, since I play with minimal blessing effects, preferring much the scales (on Abysia, my favorite yikes scary setup is a Air-4 Virtue with Dominion 9, 3-Order 3-Productivity, 3-heat, 1-death, 1-Fortune (for crossbreeding), 3-magic).
With great blessing power, they would rock. As it is, I like them with their 20% airshield just for the fact that their upkeep is halved because they are holy. (I also play with modded Salamanders: 80 gold, sacred.)
Lavas are nice to mix up with standard troops. For me they work ok with a few Pike-carrying Humanbreds, some infantry and a smattering of sacred salamanders.
