Re: ship set help plz.
Just cut the model out and paste it into a background which closely fits your model. Then bring it down (or up) to the needed pixels.
It will also help if you render your views in 1000x1000 pixels and then start scaling down.
Cutting and pasting doesn't make it more beautyful.

Re: ship set help plz.
You may even want to make a simpler Version of your model for the mini, in order to get better contrast between the parts.
That may be too much work though.
Timstone's suggestion should work very well though.
Render really high, then crop then scale.

Re: ship set help plz.
You trying to make that thing into a mini? What's the problem?...
If this is ok, and you want the .bmp Version just let me know and I'll post it.
Cheers!

Re: ship set help plz.
As far as I know all that is required for the mini's is that the bitmap be 36x36 with a black background and the ship 'front' needs to be pointing upwards. The Game takes this and does the different 'rotations' as needed.
The one I made is 'exactly' the one you posted with the teal background color. I changed the teal to black and did a bit of 'tweaking' with the contrast, sharpness and gave it a tiny bit of shading. I also kind of cheated and added engine glow which I don't think the stock ships have or use.
Attached to this post is the .bmp Version. Rename the file and try it in the game. Let me know how it looks.
Cheers!

Re: ship set help plz.
i took ur image and that looked just fine in game,it was a decent size where as mine is still tiny,i think i must be doing something wrong in the resizing process or something,i will go back through the tutorial to see if that helps.

Re: ship set help plz.
The only way I can see your pic comming out tiny is if the game is 'rescaling' the pic to fit in the game. Your original pic posted here is 104x80 pixels in size. (Note: rescaling and resizing is the same thing.) You need to 'Crop' the image to 36x36 not 'scale' it.
Here is a visual aid to help you..
Is the 'rescaled' samples above close to what they look like in the game for you? If the answer is yes then it is indeed a 'scaling problem. In most 'paint' programs the tool icon for 'Croping' is a dotted line box with tiny cissors in one corner.
Anyway, again, I hope this helps you solve your 'tiny' dillema.
Cheers!

Re: ship set help plz.
What Version of DOGA are you using? L1?
You can render it at any size you want. I use L3 and will be happy to get you hooked up with the demo for it.
I render my DOGA Portrait images at 1000X1000 with a black back ground using the Design Object portion of DOGA.
To render my 1000x1000 Mini images, I close the Design Object portion of DOGA and open up the Design a Motion.
I have uploaded a DOGA tutorial on how I do it for you to read. PDF.
