Questions about Sabre Cherry\'s Unit View map
I really appreciate the unit view map that Sabre Cherry made, but I have a couple of questions about it -
1. What is the most recent version to use? I have seen the regular and black map versions and don't know if any more exist.
2. Is there any kind of reference doc to quickly locate a specific unit? For instance if I want to find the ichthyad warrior, is there an easy way to reference what number it is in that huge army so I can easily find it? =)
3. If such a document does NOT yet exist, would anyone else find it useful/helpful if I were to hammer one out?

Re: Questions about Sabre Cherry\'s Unit View map
The latest version that I made is on my website. It has all the units for patch 2.15.
I have a bit of trouble finding units on it... I just mousewheel down on the strategic map, which scrolls 4 units at a time, until I see what I'm looking for. However, there is an excel sheet with most or all units on it, and their numbers and stats. It's on someone's website... I forget which one... but you can find it in the links sticky post.

Re: Questions about Sabre Cherry\'s Unit View map
The version of Cherry's map that I was hosting was 1 year out of date. Cherry revised it 3 weeks ago. I just uploaded Cherry's latest to my site (it's one of the top-30 most popular weekly downloads).

Re: Questions about Sabre Cherry\'s Unit View map
The Unit DB file (Dom2_DB_Units.xls) has all units from the game except Carcator the Pocket Lich and Percival the Pocket Knight, though the Oceanian units section has not been updated to reflect the mod.
You can find it at both Arryn's and Sunray's site. Between Zen, Sunray, Gandalf, Psitticine, Liga and myself, I think we have documented practically everything that can be gleaned from Dominions 2, and the most frequently used stuff are afaik Liga's Manual Addendum, my unit, weapon and magic site documents and Zen's Magic Item Quick Ref.

On my site this week, as of this post, the top reference downloads are:
1. The Tome (#3) with 24 d/l's
2. dom2_db_units_18nov2004 (#4) with 20 d/l's
3. dom2_db_weapons_&_armor_18nov2004 (#8) with 14 d/l's
4. dom2_db_magic_sites_18nov2004 (#13) with 11 d/l's
5. blackunitview (#14) with 9 d/l's
... out of 386 d/l's thus far this week. No one has downloaded Liga's or Zen's refs from me (this week) since it's been a while since they've been updated (and I presume everyone already has a copy of them). Zen and Liga's stuff are, however, extremely popular downloads whenever they are updated.
In case anyone's curious, by far my most popular d/l's are the various maps (especially Faerun, which is always the #1 and #2 d/l's) and mods that I have available, and DomMap and patch 2.15.

Re: Questions about Sabre Cherry\'s Unit View map
Thanks for the statistics, Arryn! I was talking in the sense of what documents I think people will most often consult when they need information, not about download numbers, but I most certainly do not mind getting confirmation of the popularity of my documents. Thank you for hosting them.
It also appears that I really must get to work on that Faerun map file for some seriously needed improvements in a couple of respects.

For the first two months of this year, I've had 2885 downloads, of which 413 have been the large Faerun map (the small one is the #3 d/l at 143, just behind Zen's Europe map at 179). Your units document is #4 at 138 downloads for the Jan/Feb time period.
I can pull all sorts of statistics for any of the files hosted on my site. My hosting provider has a superb statistics and admin web-based interface.

That's odd, because I know that I got them from your site yesterday. It's probably the easiest place to find them.

Odd? Perhaps. My hosting provider's records show no downloads of Liga's or Zen's documents since the end of October (as far back as the records go), which I don't find too surprising since those files were last revised in September of last year. I also show no download failures (incomplete d/ls) this week for those files. OTOH, it is odd that there've been no downloads from players new to Dom2 during the past 4 months. However, since the tracking for all the other files appears to be accurate, I have no reason to suspect that the tracking for Liga & Zen's docs is wrong, and there's no way to exclude files from the tracking.
While I'm flattered that you say my site's probably the easiest in which to find them, are you positive it was my site you got them from and not Shrapnel's own downloads page (which also has Liga's and Zen's docs)?
