Championīs Trident
My Wraith Centurion won the Deatmatch. And the prize is the trident. This is ok. Is a good weapon, Iīve seen it gives him quickness. But does it have any other special powers?
In the MIQR itīs not listed, and this list is incredibly useful for any other item because they have special powers not mentioned in the itemīs description (althrough I like that sense of mystery this game has, but iīm just curious).

Re: Championīs Trident
He'd have to go back to the arena to defend it in every other Deathmatch.
Also, despite being a trident, it has two attacks, like the flail.

Re: Championīs Trident
The Trident is also cursed, and you get 100 experience points by winning the Deathmatch. So you will need to fight again and again in the Deathmatches, unless/until the Centurion is killed (no Dominion in the Arena), or until it shapechanges into something unable of holding a weapon.

Re: Championīs Trident
Isnt a wraith centurion immortal?
In which case, you can simply get him killed in your dominion to make him lose the trident and he will respawn in the capital with all that precious expirience from winning the deathmatch

The solution is rather to *not* send anything valuable in the Arena

Killing your (immortal) Centurion would work indeed.

Or to send a prophet / battlemage. The Trident is wonderful on a smiting or fanaticizing prophet, and just as good on a battlemage. All the Vanheim and Abysian mages are exceptionally nice for the Champion's Trident, as are Assassins / Slayers.

In a small game with few players sending a prophet is an okay risk.
In a large game with lots of players and/or computers sending almost any commander will almost guarantee certain death, horror mark, battle wounds, and/or cursed.
Currently the death match prize is really not worth risking the life of a good commander. Hopefully gems and/or some other additional prize will exist within Dominions3.

Re: Championīs Trident
Wrong way ...
No pretenders, undead and demons should be able to apply for becoming a peoples' hero, shoulnd't they?

Re: Championīs Trident
Anything a nation can recruit or its national mages could summon, or anything summoned with national sites, or anything their pretender summoned, could be hero. That is, almost anything and little more.
Ruling out pretenders and uniques, and possibly not allowing all the cheesy spells/items in Arena, might be enough.
