Re: Help with Importing Databases
Sorry for the problems.
Can you tell me the exact steps you are using and the results you are seeing?

Re: Help with Importing Databases
No need to be sorry Pat. Its been at least a year or two since I've last time I even had ATF on my computer. I'm sure its more that I forgot the correct steps in loading a modified database. I'll try and recreate it and record what I did. Notsure if I can capture any screen shots, but I'll try.

Re: Help with Importing Databases
Sounds like you might be doing some MODding. I hope you will upload the fruit of your labor to the mod forum so we can take a crack at it.

Re: Help with Importing Databases
Yes, I'm trying some MODing. Though not much like what most people would expect from an Armor based wargame.
My intent is to recreate an actual Heavy-Light Attack of Death Valley. Back in approx 1998, I was attached to the Tarantula OC Black Team, working in the Starwar building. It was an Infantry Battalion (light) from 7 IDL attached to 1 Bde, 5 Inf. Their mission was to infiltrate and attack, NET 0330 destroy or force back the notherb CRP and then breach the obsticles with 4 lanes, hold NLT 0630 until the heavies showed up. Without any additional support!
Short story short, the 7IDL Bn not only completed its entire mission, but did it within the first hour. THEY KICKED BUTT!! Sorry, had to say that, I spent more then 10 years with the 7IDL; so I'm alittle biased. They destroyed nearly 50% of the CRP and had forced all OPFOR units back at least 3Ks. Sad part was the Light had no commo back to BDE, due to the BDE Cdr restrictions of support such as relay stations, etc. So, the heavies LD on time, the OPFOR regrouped and forced the Bn (L) to wothdraw and closed up all breaches. The heavies got their heads handed to them on a silver platter.
Oh, trying to create a 81mm mortar plt. Having a little problem and creating them to work right. I created the guns and platoon, but I can't seem to get them to be able to do any fire missions. How can I fix this?
Thanks ahead of time. An sorry I'm a little long winded.

Re: Help with Importing Databases
You need to set up an FDC with the ability to control mortars. Without the FDC indirect fire weapons can not fire. To make a unit an FDC you need to do the following.
1 Either create a new unit or edit an existing one.
2 In the SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES window of the VEHICLE DATA sheet click on ADD and select FIRE DIRECTION CENTRE.
3 You will then see a window called METHOD OF FIRE
4 If the FDC is a mortar only FDC click on YES.
5 If the FDC is both Mortar and Arty capable click on CANCEL.
6 Add the FDC to the Pl orbat.
Hope this helps.

Re: Help with Importing Databases
Ed,
I worked on the Dragon team for the first six months I was here at NTC, support the Tarantulas. I fought that same fight about six times, in live fire. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
BTW, the disk is in the mail.

Re: Help with Importing Databases
Gary
Thanks I'll give it a shot.
Pat,
Thanks. I'll let you know when it arrives.
Lat time I wa at NTC was in either 94 or 95 with 1 BCT 2AD/4ID. Not sure if we had been reflagged from 2AD to 4 ID. I was the S2 NCOIC for 3-41 Inf 2AD, or 1-22 Inf 4ID. Thought I did good. I was a SSG, 11H302S (TOW) with Battle Staff ASI; filling a MSG 11M40 slot.

Bug with Hierichy in ATF Scenario Builder
Not sure if its me or the program. But here's whats happening to me. Any time while I'm in the Hierichy view, and I click on to add a platton or company I get two rows of flags and units. It also is occuring when I try to change the flags in the first or second slot.
Anyone has any idea why?
