				 rlyeh void gate
am i the only one who loves this thing, some of the higher leveled summons are almost indestructable ( such as vastness) and i have found a solution to the feeble minded result of some summonings, THE CHALICE ! i cant believe i never thought of it so i tested it, and it worked. all it needs is a turn or 2 to heal your commanded and you'll have some big nasties in no time ( i had 6 vastness and gave 1 the gift of reason. with a movement of 10/30 the went anywhere and destroyed an army of around 80 black pl8 infantries ect ect ) and not to mention that all the other things you summon make great and diverse armys and bodyguards for commanders, so all you rlyeh players remember to give your pretenders 3N and 2A. if anyone has any problems/further advice on this plz post and feel free to include other void gate randomness. |

Use Starspawn priests or the Stargazer if you get him.

Am I the only one that thinks the astral bless should do something different on the void summons? At the moment, it's not a good choice for R'lyeh. |

				 Re: rlyeh void gate
the void hmm......yes I think that could be good but on it's own it could not work 100% to win a gae.
you could only go once evry 3-4-5-6 turns and alot can happen in that time! but the chalice! wow never would of thought of that! cool idea!
but my fave is the mind burn one! get a beffed up commander and give him 50 or so rlyeh w/tridents it would blow the enemy to hell and back!

				 Re: rlyeh void gate
nature and something i think ( i had a summoner with 30 summoning skill with chalice ) my favourite trick is to gift of reason and empower a vastness and give him a mix of void summons and rlyeh , or something i would like to try is void gate with a wish factory |

				 Re: rlyeh void gate
Captured Arco Priestesses with water breathing equipment (or Arco Priestesses supporting an astral mage with a captured Void Gate....), while not quite as effective as The Chalice, are non-unique, have some of the same effects, and can usually be gotten with much less research and gem burn than The Chalice, AND aren't as subject to being "stolen" as The Chalice is.

				 Re: rlyeh void gate
I reckon rushing to Construction 8 and forging the Chalice is not a lot harder (if at all) than capturing an Arco priestess. First you have to find Arco - if you're in a full MP game they could be several nations away from you. Then you have to capture a priestess - I presume this is by some kind of Enslavement spell (I've never used one), since you can't use a succubus to do it. Ok so the spell might be easier to research than Con8, but successfully casting it on a priestess (who then survives the battle) is probably tricky.
Anyone who's done it care to tell us how easy it was?
