British 40/L70 AA Radar
I'm playing a Camp against Russia and I'm Britian, I had Selected the 40/L70 AA Radar anti aircraft gun and when aircraft came in not one shot was fired from not one of the 6 guns. Am I not using this right or was the aircraft not detected, the aircraft flew right over the positions. in the stats of the weapon, the only thing that might be is the vision is set to 0, is this right?

Re: British 40/L70 AA Radar
The 40/L 70 AA Radar gun can only attack fighter-bombers. If the atacking aircraft are level bombers they fly too high for the gun to engage. You need SAM's to engage level bombers.

No they were just strike aircraft with rockets, because they took out one of my towed Rapiers! I checked the yardage and it was 3000 yds for the gun!

Re: British 40/L70 AA Radar
Just tested this and the British 40/L 70 AA worked fine in a random battle I created. 3000 yards seem a bit far for the gun... Id suspect it was the range, bad visibility or lack of proper LOS.

Re: British 40/L70 AA Radar
I tried it in another battle quickly and it worked, played the turn overand it didn't work, maybe it was the visiblity or line of sight!!!! Thanks anyway!

From the 2.0 patch upgrade items list (available as a sticky at the top of this forum list):
Quote:
34) AA radars will now spot planes and helos at ranges beyond the firing unit's ground vision rating
|
NB - LOS to the plane will still be needed (ie if you plonk your flak inside a wood or in a valley they will not have a good arc of fire
Cheers
Andy
