My First 3-D Model (SEV)
So, inspired by my "which shipsets should be converted to 3-D" thread I started to teach myself 3-D graphics creation (with alot of help from the Tylmai tutorial) to save the Federal Union.
What I ended up with is a little different, but I like the direction it is going.
Battle Cruiser
This is supposed to be a Battle Cruiser size ship.
Question for those knowledgable, my textures are always washed out when added to the model, any way to sharpen them? I would rather have detail without polygons

Umm, your site doesn't seem to allow image linking... why not upload it as an attachment?

It might be best if you convert it to PNG and then upload the image to Shrapnel.

Re: My First 3-D Model (SEV)
It's not in the post - it's in that little header above the post.
Nice start, though I wish I could see it from a different angle to really get an idea of what it looks like... say, did you make that in Wings? That background color looks vaguely familiar...

The attachment is linked to beside the date of your post, and just below the subject line.

Re: My First 3-D Model (SEV)
Thanks guys, never had to attach anything on this forum before.
I made it with 3DS MAX 7, well, the trial version anyways. I have 19 days to finish this one and the rest of the set before it expires!
Attached a bow aspect. The font of the ship is goint to be a seamless armored sheild, with the back having the viewports and nondescript gizmos. I have some really cool markings for teh front, but can't get them to show up as aything but a blob. Will give it another go tommarrow.
