Default weapon slot questions

i'm sure this is covered somewhere here or in the help file, but i could not find it, so...

what is the rule for weapon slots? i.e. in a 10 men squad, is first weapon fired by 90%, 2nd weapon by 70%, etc.? If i wanted to model everyone with one particular weapons (say AK) then wouldn't it be better to have it in slot 1 AND slot 2, rather then just slot 1?

Default Re: weapon slot questions

Slot 1 in an infantry unit is a sort of special slot where any class 1 (primary infantry) weapon should be placed if you want all the men in that unit to be equiped with it.

I think that the game runs a morale check for each man in an infantry squad to see if he fires the slot 1 weapon or not.

If you place any other class of weapon (ie secondary inf class 2) in this slot, it will only be the eqivalent of 1 weapon not one for each man (LMG squads with LMG in slot 1 for example).

Placing AKs in slots 1 and 2 would mean X number of men fire AK in slot 1 depending on morale check and then slot 2 would fire as a single AK.

If a squad gets damaged and its strength gets down to about 4 or less men, then you will loose the use of weapons starting from slot 4 eg. if you only have 1 man left in a squad, don't expect him to fire the weapon in slot 1 and fire the LMG in slot 2.

So to summarise.... the number of men firing a weapon is only ever 1 unless it as a class 1 primary infantry weapon in slot 1 where each man must pass a morale check to fire.

Hope this clears things up for you.
