Possible bug: online games and disconnections
I just had a game end with my opponent disconnecting, and the online ratings still show us as "in play", about 10 minutes later. (And, of course, I didn't get credit for the "victory", which IMHO was going to turn into a real victory in a few turns, but...)

Re: Possible bug: online games and disconnections
PhilD, can you tell me what you saw on your side after EternalOptimist disconnected?
The way it should work is if a player disconnects (without conceding first), the other player is shown a message that the other player was disconnected. (This is because the server doesn't know if it was intentional or not.)
After a 2-minute countdown, the remaining player should automatically be considered the winner, as if the disconnected player had conceded.
(We assume it is the responsibility of each player to have a stable internet connection and remain connected -- that's why we treat disconnected players like conceding players.)
After those 2 minutes, you should have been taking to the game over screen, which should have said that you won, and at which time you should have been given credit for winning.
Can you let me know what exactly you saw on your end? If I can tell what's different, I'll know what to look at to find the problem.
Thanks!

Re: Possible bug: online games and disconnections
I saw exactly what you've described, including the "PhilD wins" message. Then when I returned to the lobby and clicked on my name, it showed my record as it was before the game, and when I checked the rankings, I was still "in play". Still am, at the moment of writing this.
I'm not sure, but I think I had this happen another time already. I couldn't say who was the opponent, though. And I'm not 100% sure I didn't get credited with a "win" in the end.
(Not sure it might matter, but eternaloptimist did have several disconnections during our games today; each other time, though, he managed to reconnect before the timeout. This time, he had just announced he was going to concede)

Re: Possible bug: online games and disconnections
It's been about 48 hours since our game, and we're still marked as "in play" - the timer seems to have been reset at least twice in the meantime.
Do we get extra points for very long games?

Re: Possible bug: online games and disconnections
The state of that game was corrupted. I'm thinking it may be caused by accidently closing the game or losing connection when the server is trying to figure out if the game is over or the player is trying to reconnect - not sure exactly what it is yet, but the server will need to be more robust in handling this situation.
