Campaign Buy Points Question
Hi Folks,
Another question. I have tried to start a number of campaigns where I play Germany vs. Russia set between 2006 and 2008). Once I generate the campaign and go to the buy menu, I find that the points I have to purchase my core force with are extremely low (e.g. approx. 4000). After buying a few platoons of Leopard Is (which is all I can afford to buy if I want any other forces) and a few Pz.Gren. platoons (using M113s which is all I can afford) I am left with eneough points for a few snipers. I notice however, that there are options on the buy screen for company level buys -- which for the most part are an impossibility with only 4000 points.
My question is this. Is the game supposed to force you to buy low quality equipment in the beginning in order to build a "ballanced" force? Or, am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Krotos

Re: Campaign Buy Points Question
I assume you mean the campaign Generator (User campaigns can have fixed points per battle).
Please refer to the Game Guide, section "Preferences Screen", and refer to the bullet point on "Battle Points".
In other words - first set your individual Preferences to the points values you like to have for the core as at the initial battle, before generating a Genrated campaign, just like you set this for a Generated Battle. You will need less in say 1960 than say, 1980. (leave the player 2 at XXX and ignore air stikes as this will be calculated per campaign battle)
Cheers
Andy

Re: Campaign Buy Points Question
Push the button and input a value from your keyboard or toggle up and down with the arrows.

Re: Campaign Buy Points Question
Buy Coy level organizations! If you buy platoons, the HQ unit will have command and rally them all. Coys give you subordinate commanders. First buy, say, Leo2 coy and you will get maybe 7-9 of these (3 platoons). Then click the unit list to remove some of these tank platoons, so you will get the C unit, that is company HQ unit, that commands the now depleted tank company. And FORGET the Leo1A5s! At your experience level in this engine, DO NOT buy them. They have their time and place, but not in your current organization.
Do not negate artillery! Whatever it takes. You will need at least two Leo 2A5 or 2A6 MBTs (Not four). You will not need any Leo1A5s. Trust me on this one.

Re: Campaign Buy Points Question
Agree with Pdoktar, buy artillery for sure. Atleast SP mortars, they're great for shoot and scoot suppression tactics. And don't forget to buy FO for them.
