Armor penetration values
Hey guys,
How can I know the armor penetration values of the diferent types of cannons available ingame? Like in SPWAW where we can easily identify the penetration values based on diferent kinds of distance.
And why does my polish A0 unit can call artillery faster (1.4) than my FO unit (3.4) ???
Thanks in advance.

Re: Armor penetration values
1) Weapons encyclopaedia
2) Perhaps better experience rating?

Re: Armor penetration values
Remember the pen values are for 1 hex range. AP and APCR pen values will decrease with range. And with that you´ll just have to experiment.

Re: Armor penetration values
Let me try to explain:
In SPWAW we can easily id the penetrations values in the vehicle information screen as:
(distance in hexes)
1 (hex) - 60 (penetration) / 10 - 52 / 20 -43
And in winSPWW2:
ACC / KILL / PEN / HEAT / APCR / RANGE / WARHEAD
14 / 11:00 / 3:18 / 0 / 18 / 70:70 / 5
I'd like to know How to read those values, cause they dont say too much for me.

Re: Armor penetration values
ACC / KILL / PEN / HEAT / APCR / RANGE / WARHEAD
14 / 11:00 / 3:18 / 0 / 18 / 70:70 / 5
accuracy of the weapon is 14
The HE kill value is 11 ( first number ), AP kill is zero(second number )
Pentration for HE is 3 cm and for AP it's 18 cm
Heat has zero penetration so no heat ammo for that weapon
apcr is sabot and sabot for this weapon has an 18 pen
Range for both He and AP is 70 ( first number) and sabot is also 70 ( second number )
warhead is 5
As Andy says, more detailed info is found in the "Encyclopaedia Screen" link of the Game Guide and scroll down to the "weapon" block.

Re: Armor penetration values
Gosh what a great post!
I have a question...
In SP1 you could pretty much tell accuracy and penetration values by comparing the length and diameter of the gun and if the length is 50% or over you have a more powerful and accurate type of gun.
Does that still apply to the accuracy ratings for the weapons in the superior Camo SPWW2 version?

Yup, generally AFAIK accuracy rating is barrel length in diameters divided by four.
5cm L60 PaK/KwK ACC = 60/4 = 15
7.5cm L24 ACC = 24/4 = 6

Re: Armor penetration values
I'm not too sure about this game, but SPWAW had other things to help out the accuracy, such as the optics ratings for the guns, so I imagine this game does too.

Re: Armor penetration values
Optics ratings for the guns are considered here as fire control and range finder ratings, the bigger the number the better hit chance.
So if you want a tank with an accurate gun, check out these: range finder, fire-control, acc and stabiliser.
