Pangeae: Late age hints needed
Any useful tips or strategies for someone new to the race of beasts? Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
- Get a Fire 9 bless, or then Fire 9/Water 9
- Build Black Centaurs
- ...
- Profit!

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
Alternative approach could be Dryad Hoplites and various Fear effects. Thaumaturgy 3 and 4 give you Panic and Terror. You have mages capable of casting both. Both lower enemy morale. With low morale, they can't get past your Dryads' Awe.
Of course, you could always go for Enchantment and summon few Carrion commanders. They can reanimate manikins and other weird creatures for free.

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
Yeah, the Dryad Hoplites are quite good from my experience.
The problem with the carrion commanders is that the ones able to reanimate in meaningful amounts are so late in the research tree...the vine creatures are cool though, especially Sagittarian Carcasses which appears very, very rarely.

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
True, it's a slow start, but Carrion Centaurs are only mariginally less economical than Lords or Ladies when it comes to reanimating. I find the carrion commanders very much worth it, they return the investment in couple of turns. I don't think the low numbers are a problem either, I find they're most effective as flankers with the exception of Harpy Manikins. Anyone finding them a use (other than missile bait) gets a cookie .
I wish Illwinter would actually give the Dryad Hoplites a map move of 2. Most Pangaean armies travel 2-3 provinces a turn and I can't see reason to slow down to 1 for a bunch of slightly above average heavy infantry.

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
Well, giving them more strat movement is not hard to mod.

Re: Pangeae: Late age hints needed
These have been some wonderful suggestions! I really did enjoy the terror/panic dryad forces as the enemies struggled just to overcome their awe and fear at the same time.
But I'm curious, what bless strats would be good with the national sacreds, defense sounds good with the already high hoplite and centaur defense, but i'm curious for more,as well as a bless strat for the Maniken sacreds
Also, what exactly is "Carrion Woods" And what does it do? Is it a good path to take when deciding late era pangeae, since the panic apostates can summon each of the weird undead troops.
But is that also it's downfall? Due to needing a global summon,as well as undead that can be banished.
But the weakest carrion commander can be summoned every turn if you have out that global spell that increases your gems,or if you've site searched enough forests and other places
