Cheats are in the form of some personal modding you can do (look at the modding commands, and make your national scout units into killing machines. Yawn)

AFAIK there are no in-game cheats - this is designed as a MP game, after all.

But if you really want the most powerful god... Well, I quess Risen Oracle of Agartha would be a good start. Earth 4, Death 4, Dominion 10, make him some magic armor and a weapon or two. I'm not sure what other paths would give him most. Air would give him defensive spells (Air Shield, Mirror Image, Mistform). Water would give him Quickness and increased defence (but Quickness can be gotten from items after lots of research in Construction in both EA and MA Agartha). Fire would give him Fire Shield, but then again, there's Charcoal Shield...

Any way, lots of hitpoints, Awe, and if he dies he comes back (only loses his equipment) as long as you stay out of enemy dominion.

If you edit the .map file you can create your own pretender to even have 10 magic in all paths... which would provide your blessed units the best possible blessings as well.

I advise against cheating tho... it burns out the replay value of any game. Personally I edit .map files to make the game more challenging by providing computer opponents with extra units, better scales, extra provinces, and powerful magic sites in their capital.

This is a set of commands to give late era Pangaea (nation 61) a specific god with specific abilities. That god will be the one in play whether that nation is played by a human or an AI. The game will still have you create a god and THEN replace it but you can just blow thru the creation part.

#god 61 656 -- Fountain of Blood
#comname "Natural Disaster"
#allies 61 26 -- likes to ally with early_Oceania if they are both AI
#allies 61 48 -- likes to ally with mid_Oceania if they are both AI
#allies 61 40 -- likes to ally with mid_Pangaea if they are both AI
#allies 61 11 -- likes to ally with early_Pangaea if they are both AI
#clearmagic
#mag_blood 6 -- a bless
#additem "Treelord's Staff" -- 2 more nature
#additem "Skullface" -- helmet with 1 more death and support
#additem "Armor of Souls" -- armor and 1 more blood
#additem "Boots of the Behemoth" -- goes well with his size 6
#additem "Brazen Vessel" -- misc slot and 1 more blood
#additem "Ring of Sorcery" -- 1 death and 1 nature and 1 blood
#dominionstr 61 4
#scale_chaos 61 -3
#scale_lazy 61 -3
#scale_cold 61 0
#scale_death 61 -3
#scale_unluck 61 1
#scale_unmagic 61 0

Those commands can be added to the end of any .map file using any text editor you might have on the computer. (I recommend generating a new map or making a copy of the map file and renaming the game-map).Its a fun way to give the AI a decent god with decent scales and even extra equipment. Or to create your own favorite god-build and play against yourself as another nation to see how the AI does with it.

What you might have fun with is that this type of god-building does not limit you. You can choose any unit in the game to make a god from. One of the greater demons? An "Eater of the Dead"? You can also give it any levels of magic, any equipment that you can usually make in the game, any scales, etc. Of course to use a god that would setoff the cheat-checks you will have to turn off the cheat-protection thing when you create the game with that map.

Oh! It looks like I've been using the #allies command wrong. It says player X will ally with player Y, and I thought that meant the order the players were selected in, not the nation numbers. (I.e. player #1 is the player at the top of the list when you set everybody's nations.)

Yeah its by nation numbers.
And it only allies AI with AI (just to save 10 people the wasted effort of trying to get the AI to ally with their player nation)

The game ignores the ally line if the nation isnt in the game. One of my programming routines added a couple dozen
#allies <random #> <random #>
to a map when it generated one just to make the games interesting. For it to matter, the alliance had to be one of the random ones and they had to randomly land close to each other when you created a game on that map. So you could play it many times with very different results.
