player-made movie (YouTube)
I just thought Id split the other thread from real movie (that thread) to one we might do.
I think something was discussed back in Dom2 about it. The conversation went something along the line of....
1) how can I record a combat?
2) fraps
3) upload to youtube
4) edit it to add funny comments or add dance music?
5) Mac(imovie) Windows(windows movie maker)
6) real movie, me and my buddies, I want to play Lord of the Wild who draws droves of wild party girls out of the woods.
Well from there it went off track
But it does sound like it could at least be your 15 minutes of fame on YouTube (plus abit of advertising for Dominions) if someone wanted to do it. Better than the backyard wrestling or just-another-starwars that I keep seeing there.
=========================================
Im liking the idea of a YouTube though.
I figure that I look like Lord of the Forest (Mverni or Tir na Gog), Or Keeper of the Bridge (Vanheim), or Old Man of the Sea (Oceania). What do you think?

If I dress up like one then I could have fun doing a movie by switching back and forth between clips of me as the god and the game clips of the results.
It would be kindof fun to do.
"I WANT THAT MAGE!"
"Excuse me mage but did I not tell you the things I expected you to do in that combat? Do you want to explain WHY you chose to defy me?"
"Oh yeah, gems. Lack of range. Fatigue. Yeah fine."
"give that mage a fever fetish"

Re: What pretenders do you look like?
I've got a coworker (the crazy one voted most likely to go postal) who says I look like Jeffrey Dahmer. I beg to disagree.
Never been compared to God, though.

My mother kinda looks like The Great mother, but there is no way I'm posting a picture of her up here, if she found out she'd kill me!

Re: What pretenders do you look like?
For some inexplicable reason, whenever I try to imagine a player-made (YouTube) video, this keeps on popping into my mind. For some reason, I just can't imagine it turning out any other way. I'm not sure why my mind makes this jump though...

Re: What pretenders do you look like?
Webcomics can look good, but unless the plot is thought out beforehand, you get tired of them. The webcomics that I still read, mentioned in the other movie thread, have good, simple plots that are planned out from the beginning. Well, except for Goblins, which is why it doesn't work so well.
We could do a few humorous How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Horrifying Monsters from Strange Places that Devour All The Gods strips, but that'd be it. Good plot, or good stand-alone works. Dominions fan-art, now, THAT'd be something.
