Default SP Computer Dominion Blitzkrieg question

Edit: Sorry.. it was Arco who dominion swamped me and I was Bogarus. Sorry 'bout that. I modified the original body.

Perhaps a foolish question...

Last night I was playing SP as LA Bogarus and was slugging it out with Arco (at Mighty if that matters) on the frontier. We each had about ½ the medium map.I decided to turtle up and play with researching and casting some of the higher level spells. I was about six turns away from casting Utterdark (had a fair number of summoned undead, high level Death casters and buku death gem income). In the space of just a few turns my dominium flipped map-wide though I was building temples like a Mormon and preaching like a Southern Baptist (no offense intended to either). Any idea what befell me? Heretics? Is is possible to see what the computer had going on from the game files?
Tnx,
SSJ

Default Re: SP Computer Dominion Blitzkrieg question

LA R'lyeh produces insanity in its dominion, which causes weird effects, like random commanders declaring themselves prophets. It may be that you were leaving them alone and not killing off their freespawn and they got an acre of prophets all at once, boosting their dominion off the scale.

R'lyeh also gets random events (I think) that spread its dominion to random provinces.

If both of those happened at once it might produce the effect you describe.

Check the stats graph, was there a quick spike in R'lyeh's dominion?

Also LA Pythium mages keep all dominion (including yours) near 0, a province with 0 dominion is very, very vulnerable to enemy dominion spread.
