Losing contact
I'm playing the balance mod 1.13 and the stupid standard ai is making tons of spaceports and resupply depots again.
Oh and for some reason, the a couple of the computer generated ai have lost contact with me for no obvious reason. I can't attack them, or even see them. What's going on? Note: I have a fleet sitting on top of their homeworld; I know its still there cuz I haven't glassed it yet.

Re: Losing contact
Contact requires a planet-to-planet connection... if you've closed warppoints, you can lose connection despite having ships in their system.

Re: Losing contact
There's a small error in the Default Aggressive script that is causing the AIs using that script to build multiple Spaceports and Resupply Depots.
Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send you a fixed version of the default aggressive script.

Re: Losing contact
Thats nice, what about the lost contact? It's too early in the game for warp point manipulation. I can't see them, attack them or anything. I know they are still there because I open up the players menu and make them under human control.

Re: Losing contact
A warp point could have closed due to a random event...

Re: Losing contact
If I lose contact because there is not a direct route, then I can't attack or see them? That sounds like a pretty big bug.

Re: Losing contact
Try using the cheat "omni" if you have cheats enabled. See if there's a missing warp point or something of that nature that would disconnect your empires.
I would call the fact that your ship is in their system and the lost contact message popping up is buggish and it'd be worthwhile to send your save game to Aaron. Let him know if you are using a custom shipset and which mod version etc.

Re: Losing contact
I tried the omni cheat. No dice. It's not so much that I'm losing contact as they are moving past me and I can't attack them. And no, I don't have a treaty with them. Random events are set to low occurrence and severity.

Re: Losing contact
The reason why you can't attack is because there ships are unknown, but I can't come up with any ideas why they would be unknown if you have direct sight of them. It might be worthwhile to forward the savegame to MM, just let him know which version of the mod you are using and if you were using any custom shipsets etc. It has to be some sort of bug.
