Default Order of Defense

Two questions.

First off, spells like ironskin either improve your protection to a certain number, or if that number is already met raise it a little more. However, does the protection provided by levels of earth magic count towards this number?

Second, has there ever been a list of which "defenses" have are checked first? E.g., does a unit get petrified before it get paralyzed by Astral Shield? Or in the case of awe will it be convinces to not swing the sword and brave the defense at all?

Default Re: Order of Defense

1. It does not stack when a certain number is granted but it does when the already high protection increases a bit. That means if a Pan has E2 or E3 after casting ironskin and earth power he has prot. 20. But when he gets heroic tough skin for overall protection 11 and then casts summon earth power and barkskin he gets both bonuses +1 from SEP (actually from additional earth level) and +1 from barkskin for overall prot. 13.
2. I only know that awe effect prevents petrification check.
