Same nation/age in same game?
I had an odd thought. I am not a modder, so this may already be happening, but I am ignorant of it.
Is it possible to have the same nation/age have multiple instances in the same game? Can I have MA/Ermor fight MA/Ermor in the same game? It might be interesting in some ways. No more arguments over balance, pretender design would be more critical than normal and good strategic play would be essential.

Yes, that is easily accomplished with a very simple mod. The only minor complication is that you should get new flags for the duplicate nations and rename the clones.

Uh,.. it's not /that/ simple.
And getting the copy you make to have reanimating priests would require them to be undead, which is clearly different, plus they'd be reanimating generic undead, not MA ermor special ones.

Re: Same nation/age in same game?
You could get most of the things the same, but not quite all since all nation specials are not moddable and reanimation lists are fixed.
But if you were to move MA Ermor and Lanka to the same era, then replace one or the other with the same recruitment list so that they were functionally identical save for reanimation lists and national spells.
For natuions that do not have a lot of specialties, it is easier to do. The two nations just can't have the same name.

Re: Same nation/age in same game?
I have requested that a modder, maybe someone learning the subject, tackle modding each nation. That would make it easy and fun to have "my Ulm strategy and beat your Ulm strategy" games. Even if there ended up minor differences, both players could play the mod as their nation in order to make sure that the twiddly little difference didnt decide anything.
I also think that for someone like me it would be a great learning ground. I would LOVE to see a nation which I know well, such as Early Age Pangaea, be laid out by a modder expert in mod commands. How to give them the gods, the national sites, the national spells, creating the units completely by modding commands (not just duping them), etc.

Re: Same nation/age in same game?
EA Pangaea would be sort of tricky, because of the maenad summoning. You could copystats the pan, but that would defeat the point of 'remaking' him.
You don't need an expert. Any modder with even basic experience with nations could whip up a clone of EA Pangaea real quick. But I don't really see the benefit. There might be a point to a total newcomer to modding trying to do it.
