Default Reaction Moves...eh?

Two things that bugged me during the demo were the inexplicable arrival of enemy re-reinforcements during battles, and that strange looking "R" thingy in the battle display.

Having just purchased the game, and after a peruse of the rules (haven't played the full game yet), I came across the "Reaction Moves" section. What a beautiful little twist, I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet (if they have, I must have missed it).

Reaction Moves allow ships in adjacent areas to move (reinforce) a defensive battle. This completely changes the "strategy think". Now I see the strategy of placing a fast moving carrier strike force (speed is important for Reaction moves, so keep the slow BBs out of the TF....forcing a player to not only "think" like the admirals of the day, but to think that way for the same reason) can sit astride two potential avenues of enemy advance, and be on call to support either one. Very nice touch.

Default Re: Reaction Moves...eh?

Yes, this reaction option is cool. But I think it needs to be on wishlist..

The only thing bad about this reaction thing is that you don't get to see the map. Maybe there are other nearby battles that can have the same reaction forces. Its like I have to guess if thats the battle I actually what the reaction forces to go to.

Wishlist..Reaction menu needs option to view map(or list of all turn battles).
