Monitors
This is a question for anyone who may have upgraded their computer lately who went from a CRT monitor to a Flatscreen.
Are there any flatscreen monitors out there than match CRT's for colour saturation ? Any I have seen have left me less than impressed.

Re: Monitors
Not changed recently but assume looking for something decent & just speculating on what I have seen.
LCDs do struggle with saturation if you want something decent have to pay a bit more.
Search for whats good at the moment looking at reviews from comp mag websites.
I think generally go for a dedicated monitor maker things like Samsung etc are nothing to write home about like thier TVs.
I have a couple of oldish viewsonic monitor which are solidly built with a nice heavy base, very vibrant picture makes most monitors look washed out.
Might be worth looking at them, somebody gave me an Acer monitor a while back it went straight in the skip terrible.

Re: Monitors
I appreciate the reviews but what I'm looking for specifically is someone who plays this game who has upgraded from CRT and is very happy with the way their new monitor displays the colour.

Re: Monitors
Well, I think that as long as you buy a LED monitor, the colors will look great, but not necessarily very accurate. You need some good PVA panel at least, for good colors. I have a LG245WPM, which is an older model with M-PVA panel and it is very good. Still, if you want color accuracy for professional reasons, then you will need to buy something even more advanced (I bought mine in 2007 for 700 euros while today you can get them for half that). I can't advice on specific model since unfortunately I can't afford to get a new one now, but you should avoid anything with plain TN panel. They look far far better than previous generations, but color accuracy is not exactly AAA.
Eizo have quite the name but at their price range....I rather not.

Re: Monitors
I just realized I forgot to explain something. The reason I mentioned the details of my own monitor is to advice you to stay away from it. Don't buy it even if you find it at a very low price. Bad craftsmanship. Way too expensive for the pile of....things, it is.
I would stay clear of LG monitors. Yes they are cheaper and seem to provide more for the money and they have a good warranty. They are still ****. IMO as always.

Re: Monitors
My LED lightuing monitor is very easy on the eyes and I daresay it is quite good flatscreen... Benq, dunno which model. But generally people I know praise LEDs as well and their price isn't that different from classic LCDs.

Re: Monitors
I swapped from a very nice 21" CRT to a flat screen (also fairly high end) about a year ago.
MUCH prefer the flat screen.
Only issue I've run into is if you don't align the flat screen correctly with reguard to viewing angle based on your height you lose a LOT of picture quality/clarity.

Re: Monitors
That's only if you buy a TN panel monitor. With MVA and IPS it improves a lot to the point you need to look at it from a crazy angle to make it unviewable.
