		I have been making my own map mods for different types of battle map types. Looks like you can have anything ranging from 1 large land mass with only a ocean border around the entire mass for mostly land unit battles to having  small scattered islands with most of the battles being on the ocean. Or anything in between. 
 
Map Type Name                  := Detailed Gigantic Map 
Map Width                      := 320 
Map Height                     := 160 
Starting Land                  := 30 
Expand Radius                  := 1 
Land Chance Horizontal         := 95 
Land Chance Vertical           := 95 
Glob Land Radius               := 10 
Base Land Region Amount        := 180 
Base Ocean Region Amount       := 120 
Use Base Detail Map            := TRUE 
Number of Base Map Details     := 1 
Base Map Detail 1              := FullMap_SolidLand_Giant_01.bmp 
 
Map Type Name       := Name To Indicate The type of map created 
Add your on maps and give it a name that best describes the map type for example:  Detailed Gigantic Map Islands 
 
Map Width           := Looks Like The Hard Coded Limit is 320 
Map Height          := Looks Like The Hard Coded Limit is 160 
I tried to make maps bigger but it keeps crashing with a invalid bitmap image error So I assume that the size limit is hard coded 
 
Starting Land                        := 30 
Not too sure how this varible effects the overall map 
Although it seems to do the same as increasing the Expand & Glob Radius numbers but at a smaller difference in land mass. 
 
Expand Radius                          := 1 
This number seems to make larger groups of land together 
 
Land Chance Horizontal    := Determines Amount Of Land Horizonal 
Increases the amount of land Horizonal 
Land Chance Vertical      := Determines Amount Of Land Vertical 
Increases the amount of land Vertical 
Making these numbers around 90 or below start making lots of islands Increasing these numbers to 99 or 100 make 1 large land mass with only ocean running around the entire edge.  
 
Glob Land Radius                     := 1 
Rasing this number seems to make larger groups of land together and makes the land masses look more boxy in nature. 
 
Base Land Region Amount     := 180 
Base Ocean Region Amount    := 120 
This determines the size of a region 
The smaller the number the larger the region. 
Base Land Region Amount     := 20 
Base Ocean Region Amount    := 20 
Gives you larger land & ocean regions but less of them 
Kind of having a smaller map but on a larger scale to view. 
Base Land Region Amount     := 200 
Base Ocean Region Amount    := 200 
Gives you smaller land & ocean regions but lots more of them 
Of course you can have anything in between to your prefference. 
 
Use Base Detail Map                := TRUE 
Only alow for having a detailed map or simple map 
 
Number of Base Map Details    := 1 
Number of Map Details listed below this line. 
 
Base Map Detail 1           := FullMap_SolidLand_Giant_01.bmp 
I have not tried to design my own map details since I am not good at designing my own type of graphics but I suppose this would be neat for thoese who are artistic and can design their own maps details 
 
 
Overall Summary: These options allow for a map that makes land or naval units the main focus of the battle or any combination in between.
