Default New Nation: Aksum - the real lion tribe



Version 0.13 released!

Now MC project compatible

Aksum v0.13

Enjoy having your face ripped off by a bunch of magic wielding lions.

Just wanted to release the beginnings of a new EA mod nation that I've been working on: Aksum. Essentially its a nation of cat people based around the old Empire of Aksum in eastern africa.

I have a majority of the sprite work completed. And wanted to start getting feedback on the nation.

Overall theme. Expensive, highly skilled troops, most with little armor but high defense.

Base stats - Leopard Troops
Hit Points: 22
Size: 3
Attack Skill: 11
Defence Skill: 13
Strength: 13
Protection: 4
Precision: 11
Magic Resistance: 11
Morale: 11
Encumbrance: 3
MapMovement: 2
Action Points: 15
Extra bite attack, 75 darkvision

Most of the recruitable are Leopard troop w/ various armaments

There are two other basic populations, a panther type cat and lions. Both lack the extra bite attack of the leopards. Lions are size 4, stronger, higher attack, but lower defense.

Panthers are all stealthy and have a parry 4, prot 0 shield (lightning reflexes) that makes them much harder to hit with arrows. Slightly more fragile, but more expensive than the generic leopard troops. All panthers have DV 100.

The nation has one recruitable sacred: a size 3 stealthy panther with 2x scimitars with zero armor, but with "Lightning Reflexes"- cap only.

Additionally, they'll have a new sacred version of each of the various cat themed summons (kithriotic lions, manifest vitriol, summer lions, etc.)

Magic - Primary paths - Fire, Water, and nature
Aux paths - Earth, with some astral outside of the capital

Priest of Sabaeas (Lion mage)- 3F2W + 110 FWEN, priest level 2, 350 G

Priestess of Sheba (Lioness Mage)- 3F2N + 110 FWEN, priest level 2, healing 40, female lions, 350 G

Non-Cap-

Lord of the Plains- Lion Warrior commander, priest level 1, good general, magic swoard, 90 G

Seer of Sabaeas- primary research mage, 1S + 100 FWESN, priest level 1, Female of the panther like tribe of cats, can change shape into a human female form with seduction, prevent bad events 10, 140 G

Shadow of Sabaeas - Assassin/spy, priest level 1, Male of the panther like tribe of cats and leader of the various panther troops, 80 G

Acolyte of Sheba - Mage, 2N, 2x 100 FWE, priest level 1, leader of the leopard people, 170 G

Oasis Guard Captain - Leader of the Leopards of the Oasis Guard (the elite force of the nation) , good leader, nothing else spectacular about him, 60 G

Leopard Tribe Chieftain - another generic commander, 40 G

Leopard Tribe Scout - your generic scout, 30 G


Units-

Chosen of Sabaeas - Cap only sacred panther warrior, stealthy, size 3 panther, dual wields falchions, high defense, Lightning reflexes (size 4 prot 0 shield, very hard to hit with arrows) 40 G

Warrior of the Plains- Lion warrior, size 4, dual wields magic axes, 60 G

Night Stalker - Stealthy panther warrior, lightning reflexes, dual wields scimitars, similar to the Chosen but not sacred, 35 G

Oasis Guard - Armored troops, the elite warriors of the nation, leopard type cat wielding a falchion and shield or a composite bow, 30 G

Leopard Tribe - The bulk of your troops, come in a unarmed (claws and teeth), spear, falchion, and composite bow version, 15 to 20 G

Version .13 changes
-- Entire nation moved to EA
-- Night stalker and Warrior of the Plains no longer sacred
-- Chosen of Sabaeas (cap only sacred added), dual wielding pather similar to night stalker, slightly higher stats across the board
-- All panthers got "Lightning Reflexes" parry 4 prot 0 shield, basically they're really good at avoiding missle fire
-- Warrior of the Plains and Lord of the Plains now have magic weapons
-- Priestess of Sheba given 3F2N rather than 3N2F
-- Price on both lion mages now 350
-- Randoms on Seer of Sabaeas (Panther mage) changed to 100 FWESN from 100 FWEN, price increased to 140
-- Paths on Acolyte of Sheba (Leopard mage) changed to 2N + 2x 100FWE, price increased to 170
-- Various lion and panther units lost their extra bit attacks
-- Stats adjusted across the board
-- Various name changes
-- Unit numbers changed for compatability with MC project
-- Various price adjustments accross the board

Very nice.

I should point out that the "lightning reflexes" shield makes it easier to hit the sacred with morning stars than if it wasn't using the shield.

Yep. I know, unfortunately by product. I wanted to give them a slight boost vs. arrow fire, while still leaving them with zero protection. Only way to do that is with a prot zero shield.
