Password Problem
I am playing a solo game against the computer AI's
My empire will no longer accept my password. The only way I can get into the game is to select the host, and then press "end turn".
Yet I can "edit" my empire by giving the password.
Anybody have an idea what is going on?

Re: Password Problem
Hmm...it sounds like you accidently changed your password for the game empire (which I don't think affects the usually empire password). Try using blank for your password...I've had that happen before...

Using a "blank" password was the first thing I tried...
Captain Kwok, about your comment on "accidentally changed your password for the game empire", how does one do it on purpose?

Re: Password Problem
This is getting weird.
I used modpicker, selected "play SE4 game". Was then presented with the main menu. Selected "load game". Eventually, I was presented with the menu of players and the request for the "password".
I entered the password and voila!!!! I am in the game.
Exited the game and tried loading the game normally, and double viola!!!! It accepted the password.
Anybody have an explanation for this?

Re: Password Problem
If your using the mod picker, on the right side is list of your save games, DO NOT use this to start your game. I had similiar problem if i cliked my save game from there. Go to Play SEIV
on bottom of screen

Re: Password Problem
Sometimes when SE IV is looking for a password that shouldn't be there, it will accept either a single space or the word "master" as the password.

Re: Password Problem
The mod pick always works when loading savegames.
1. Do not forget to keep your savegame in the correct modfolder/savegame directory (if you play a mod with that savegame)
2. In single player games, do not forget to enter your player number.
3. If there is no password for your empire a single space is required in the password field.
Sometimes (rarely) SE4 will only accept the master password, although I have yet to experience a case of this myself.
