Ships equipped with Gravitational Condensor running away during battle?

Here's the scenario, I equip one of my baseships with a Gravitational Condensor and Collapser (so I can open and close wormholes) and also equip it with a repair module (so I can continually do this). I then equip it with some weapon. However, when I send this ship into battle and have it battle automatically (strategy), it just runs to the corner instead of fighting (it does have weapons, it's not like it's a colony ship or something). Does anyone know how to turn this behavior off? I know I could go into tactical but it gets repetitive after a while.
