Ship icon angles-what do they mean?
When you're perusing you fleets and ships or when they are orbiting a planet, often the ship's icons are at different points of the clock, like 12,10 etc. What does this mean?
Thanks!

Most like what direction they arrived from- the ships nose pointing the direction it moved to get to that sector.

They change direction as they fly along in space. The direction they are facing is generally based off of what sector they Last came from. I believe new ships are always set to be pointing to "south" before they have moved.

So is it cheating to use a radially symmetrical shipset like the Eee, so they can't tell if you're coming or going?

No. They can watch the movement replay log.

When playing against a race that you can't determine the direction of travel you can use a different ship set.
