I'd like to give out free advice, to anyone who's thinking about starting a webcomic.
1: Do not use your own handwriting unless you get consistant compliments. *Big Problem. I don't know how many webcomics I've had to drop because, although they were good, or even great, I couldn't read some of the text or found it an eyestrain too.*
2: If you cannot meet #1, then at least a 10-point font, and get a friend to read any non-standard font to check for readability. *Font types aren't so much of a problem, but 8 or 6 point fonts can be as much of a problem as messy handwriting. Also, check to see if your server reduces image size. I don't know if you can do anything to get the larger image shown, but you could plan your comic around a smaller image size.*
3: Update regularly. Do not take unexplained, two month hiatuses. This means me.
4: And while I'm complaining here,
check your text for contrast with the background. That can mess up readability too.
