Weapons platforms & resupply
Hi, I've been playing Space Empires for few days and have accumulated a couple of questions. First, how do you launch weapons platforms? I can order a planet to launch satellites but not weapons platforms. Second, how do you resupply ships that run out of supplies?

Re: Weapons platforms & resupply
You cannot launch weapon platforms, these can only be present on planets. If you want to transport these platforms to another planet, you will have to use a transport and the "Transfer Cargo"/"Load Cargo" function.
You can use resupply depots to give supplies to your ships if they are over a planet, or Stellar Collectors (found under the Stellar Harnessing field) which generate supplies in deep space. Or you may want to build a few ships dedicated to storing supplies if you are going to the offensive. Later on, you may discover other components to generate supplies, such as Emergency Supplies Pods or the Quantum Reactor, which basically solves this problem.

You do not launch weapons platforms. You build them on a planet and when that planet is attacked the weapons are fired. You can also load them on a transport and carry them to another colony for deployment.

You can resupply by sending it back to a colony with a resupply facility on it, you can build a supply ship (many supply containers and/or solar collectors) and send the supply ship to the out-of-supply ship and fleet them together for one turn (they will share their supplies), or you can just continue on with only 1 movement point.
Edit - Alneyan beat me to the punch.
Please also see the Newbie thread here which can answer these and many other questions you may have.

Re: Weapons platforms & resupply
I always try to get solar collector as soon as possible. That, with a big enough hull and at least one storage unit, should be enough to supply your ship until you can eventually get quantum reactor.

Thanks for the answers, one more question though: does anyone know what the xenophobic culture is for? It looks the same as schemers only with more negatives.

It is an oversight that has never been corrected. Many mods make it useful.
