Ok, so forget that idea then. Just whats the plain best mod then? (Maybe like a top 5 list or something? ) Come to think of it, I'm going to se how far I can get modding it myself.

PvK Balance mod is a good fix to the imbalances of the empire design phase of play. It doesn't make any other changes. It only changes the costs during empire design.

Is this the line to shamlessly plug one's own mod?

If so then I'd have to make a push for my Dark Nova 4 mod. Makes relativly little changes to actual techs and game style but radically alters ship designs for increased diversity. Lots more sizes and Lots of mounts. Other stuff in there too but those are the key aspects.

The TDM-ModPack doesn't change any rules/weapons/buildings/anything on the game, it just beefs up the AI. You can find it here:
