Default No Typing in a Wish spell?

I can’t find anything on this problem in the forum. When I try to cast a wish spell, I can’t type anything into the text prompt.

I’ve tried:
1) cap lock on and off
2) scroll lock on and off
3) num lock on and off
4) using the mouse to click into (and out of) the text prompt

Since I’m not seeing anything on this, I must be missing some kind of trick here. Has anybody else seen this problem?

Mhm, strange:

Mybe you should change to windows/fullscreen modus(alt + enter)...

Does the keyboard(the shortcuts) work in the game?

Try patching the game. In an early version (the one that comes on cd?) the text was invisible, and patching to 2.08 or later will make it visible away.

If you already have a patched version, it might be a new bug.

If the game is patched, it will never come up. On the other hand, I've never needed Wish against AI so I haven't used it a single time in DomII.

I spaced that off. There is a more recent patch than my version. I’ll try that, thanks!

If that doesn't work see if you can rename commanders... also try rebooting your system.
