Default Shroud of the Battle Saint question

This is the situation:
I have a S9 bless so my blessed units benefit from Twist Fate. If i give a Shroud of the Battle Saint to a commander, does it protect him from ritual spells such as Mind Hunt, Seeking Arrow, etc? Does Twist Fate prevent any kind of damage done out of the battlefield?

What about other unit's stats? Does being ethereal gives a unit a 75% chance of being missed by a seeking arrow? I assume luck and other stats should work the same way, dont they?

Thanks in advance

Going from memory, this _definitely_ worked in Dom2, and I believe it works in Dom3. However...

It is applied at the beginning of the turn (or close to it), and will only protect you from the first attack that turn. It will NOT protect you from multiple attacks, nor, if it protects you from a Seeking Arrow, for example, will it protect you during a combat on the same turn.

Again, working from memory...

Wyatt

Thanks Wyatt
So Twist Fate only protects the unit from the first attack it receives in the turn, not in an specific battle? Can anyone confirm this?

The manual description of the spell it says:
"The first successful strike against the caster is negated" but does not say anything about a turn or battle scope.

Thanks

Twist fate protects you against the first hit that you take in a battle, after that, the units looses the twist fate effect.

If two battles occur in the same turn, the unit can be blessed again, thus getting the protection again.

The case under dispute here is units that are permanently blessed by Shroud of the Battle Saint. (and prophets?)
It should be fairly easy to confirm whether a Shroud renews the Twist Fate effect in a second battle. Whether it protects against multiple overland spells is a little trickier to test.

There's always the chance the effect only renews when the unit is blessed again, i.e. the Shroud is removed and re-equipped.

No it isn't. Put him alone in a province and cast two spells at him! Seeking Arrow should do the trick, but use a low-hp commander (and probably an unarmored prophet instead of someone in a Shroud), and repeat a few times to make sure you aren't getting thrown off by good/bad luck. I'd do it myself if I wasn't at work.

It's even easier, and interesting, to do.

Take an S9 pretender. Prophetize your first commander. Throw one Seeking Arrow spell at him (alone). You should get the message "... but he was miraculously unharmed" and you then check him to see if he has the Twist Fate marker on his character. He shouldn't.

Specifically, Endo, I believe it's about 85% likely that it's reapplied every turn. It's what I have noticed, but I don't have all that much time to test it.

I hope it is.
