Default Harpooning Anyone?

Has anyone figured out what the "Harpooning" weapon effect does? It's not in the mod manual, but it can be used as a weapon secondaryeffect. Immobilization? Automatic next round damage?

Edi's wonderful database lists it as "spc" damage, and the notes "?".

I know what the term meant when i was in college and one of my friends had one too many and was seen leaving the bar with a female who looked like she could trample.

I would estimate it allows the weapon to work underwater, thus how the piercer missle weapon works.

thanks everyone. I was thinking of whether or not it would be appropriate for a giant crab-claw type weapon. Although it sounds funny (a "harpooning" claw"), but it certainly seems to fit the bill - a claw that grabs, holds and crushes rather than cuts and rakes.
