Movement Question

I had one experience were it seemed like we had two seperate battles. Both our advances were stopped, and we both held our positions... He failed to take my capital and I failed to take his providence.

But it was complicated, because we both had forced draining into the area, so, maybe, I lost to his reinforcement and he to mine... we didn't pay that close of attention, he was being awed by the early game might of Machaka and was about to cede... though, it was the first major confrontation.
