Default Re: Extracting Scenario Maps

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to do this as well, and following the above is not working for me. I am confused as to which app to use. I have the purchased CD version.

I do not see in the Scenario Hack Editor where to see the map, turn off the flags and save out the maps.

I was wondering if anyone can take this noob step by step through the process of saving out a scenario map for re-use?

Thanks much, I really appreciate the help. Many of the scenario maps are really really great!

Not scenhack - that is for editing data elements.

Load the scenario in the in-game scenario editor.

Then press the EDIT button, to get into the map editor page of the scenario editor, and choose the "Save MAP" button (red disk icon, says "save the current map to disk" when you hover the mouse over it, situated on the bottom row of buttons). Choose a slot in the save dialogue and type in a map name if the suggested one does not suit, press enter. Job done.

You now have the map - and can e.g. use the extended map editor to cut out a smaller part of that scenario map, or load it as a custom map in the scenario editor or battle generator.

Thank you very much!
For some reason I just did not understand the process until now. I followed your steps and finally get it.
I am really excited because there are so many great maps buried in there. It will be great to re-purpose those. Hats off to all the great map makers out there. Great work, and a great game!
