Scenario install problems
Hi!
Sorry for this noob problem--- I only discovered this game recently, and I love it!
But I have so far been unsuccessful in trying to play downloaded scenarios/campaigns. I am using Patch 2.51, I patched the game with all previous patches in sequence, and I also allocated unused slot numbers to the downloaded scenarios/campaigns. They show up in the game, and I can click on them to get the initial infos, but I cannot start a battle!
Any idea what the *** I messed up, anyone? Thanks in advance!

Maps?
Uhm, as I am still not too familiar with the game's editor (I am more used to the Talonsoft campaign series), I was wondering: Where do the maps come from, if someone creates a scenario on his own map - but shouldn't they be included in the download? Do they have to be copied int o a separate map folder, or just into the .../scenarios folder?

Maps used in scenarios will be part of the scenario files.
Most scenarios should have 3 files; spscnxxx.cmt, spscnxxx.txt and spscnxxx.dat although a txt file is not required to make the scenario work. The "xxx" will be the scenario slot. Make sure you copy all the scenario related files to the scenario folder
With campaigns, all related files go into the campaign folder. These will all be named uzzz?xxx.txt, czzzsxxx.dat, ucampzzz.dat and ucampzzz.txt. The "zzz" will be the campaign slot and the "xxx" will be the scenario slot for the campaign (not to be confused with independent scenario files). The "?" is for battle breiefing files and you should have 6 of them (a, b, c, d, e and i).

Has this happened on a number of different sceanrios or just one or two? It's possible you just got a bad DL. One thing you can try is DL the scenario, extract it to a temp folder and then manually copy all three files to the correct location in the game folder. For Scenarios that would be WINSPMBT\Scenarios and Campaigns WINSPMBT\Campaigns. There will be three files for each sceanrio and varous numbers for campaigns. ALL the files need to be copied over. In your case what *MAY* have happened is you had highlighted the .CMT file and only copied it to the sceanrios folder. Typically sceanrios have a TXT, CMT and DAT file. That would explain why you could see it in the game but not play it
Since you have patched to 2.51 and your game works you've done all of that correctly

problem solved ;)
Hi!
Thanks for your replies - the problem is solved, now most scenarios + campaigns seem to work. Thanks also for the information on the way these games are saved - I am right now trying to modify a downloaded campaign (UNIFE - great job, by the way) with another country + new, modified OOB, and even though I havent had to re-write all the text files, it works at least!
