If you haven't already found the Desura forums for Dominions 3, you need to go there. The new patches no longer work with the old CD version, so you would probably have to buy the game again, though...

If you don't have the installer file you downloaded from Gamers Front somewhere, then you either need to buy Dom3 from Desura, Gamersgate or Steam or talk to Illwinter directly as Gandalf suggested.

Install Dominions somewhere other than C:\Program Files\ and run the patch as administrator.

That means the mod you have activated has an error in one of its commands. Everything points to an invalid #selectweapon command, but if it's CBM, good luck finding that if you're just new to mods....

1) Yes, there is multicore support

2) Not moddable, but the limit issue has autoresolution built into the engine.

3) No answer to whether there should be more space for globals.

There was a bit of a whoopsy in the map file, I edited it in the Dom4 beta editor and had forgotten to change the #domversion command, so it said #domversion 350. That's been fixed in the archive now...

Run the game as admin the first time, then enter the key. The key you got is correct, Dominions 3 cd keys are not uniform (i.e. some of them have xxxx-123-abcde-1234 and others may start off with 3...
