I built a defensive base using tractors, direct fire engine destroyers and repulsors in that order. I'd pull a ship close, destroy the engines, toss out into oblivion.

The organic tech tree contains a small thingy for troops that fires just like a Ground Cannon, just better on it's higest lvl than the ground cannon. I use it all the time on my fighters and troops.

If the militia has 60 militan units and you've got 19 troops, they'll msah you down before you have time to do much damage. In my experience, 10 Large Troopers can take on 150m-200m and below without...

Highest lvl of normal sheilding generates 300 points. Highest lvl of pahes shielding generates 375. But as someone said, the gap between phased lvl 1 and normal shileds highest lvl is rather large....
