Mostly what I'm interested in is if I start my pretender out with two levels of fire magic if he'll ever level up and be able to cast level 6-7 or more fire spells or if your magic levels are locked...

Newbie Questions about experience
I've seen that comanders get experience, could someone tell me.
1. Do pretenders get experience or just commanders?
2. How do they get experience it is through battle or do they gain it over time...
