Why is it that the Repair Bay and Space Yard components can repair 3, 5, or 8 components at their respective levels, yet the planetary Space Yard Facility can only repair 5...

Personally, I can live without Multi-player. (I just think games 4X games like SEIV are too big and long to work that route).
On the other hand, I also think the criticisms of the AI are spot...

Strange, but in Tactical Combat mode, you can do that even without scanners.
Do you mean LRS allow you to do that on the System map?

I've only been playing the Demo so far (tho I have ordered the full game!), but it does seem like the AI is much too passive. My initial example may be the extreme, but I have yet to see the AI pull...

Very good suggestions --- agree wholeheartedly! In addition:
4. The ability to abandon / scrap a ship in deep space. As it is, you can only do so at a Shipyard.
5. Autosave Frequency should...

I checked out the Savegame folder to find out the size of the savegame files (logical, no?), and this is what I found:

Yr point about the AI giving in if yr nice to it sounds like what happened. My first act of agression was to blockade it's homeworld, all was peachy before that....
