almost certainly because the barrel and breech wasn't designed for the pressures involved. that was why i was sceptical

thanks for that. i'm a fan of the 6 pounder, and the six pounder got the first tiger kills of the western allies, both as an AT gun and tank vs tank.

read on wikipedia, that an apcbc round was produced for this, with a higher muzzle velocity. spww2 only has ap at penetration 8 for all versions of this gun, as far as i can tell.

It's ideal to have mech units as they can do the defensive ambush stuff as dismounted inf. They can creep forward as dismounted, but they can rush supressed, shot expended units to close quarters for...

In meeting engagements I get as far forward as I can without contacting the enemy significantly, or them contacting me the following turn when I can...

Occasionally you get a message saying something like "shot hits targets weak point for +whatever penetration". I've seen the +whatever range from 1 or 2 up to the 50s.

I think you miss my point.

Attached is a 20x20 map I made full of elevations up to 45, none of which are visible on the map graphic, but can be detected with pointer rollover and do cause LOS...

I noticed that some maps that come with the game have elevations that you can't see on the screen, but do restrict LOS. Rolling over the mouse pointer gives an elevation, but no hillside graphics are...

Agree completely Bernard. Also the 250point limit isn't high enough. When you've got modern forces of 20,000 points the v-hexes only have a total of 5250 maximum.

Noticed this result in the pen calculation message when using US flame throwers, seemed to come with every hit. I think it's because the warhead size is 45 and this is somehow factored into...
