Experience

When a unit makes a kill or shoots in a game it will get more experience as it takes part.
So in a campaign, once each unit has gone past the 5 kills you want it to make a kill a game, failing that...

Re: Date in long campaign

Errmm...
So my two questions:

1) Can you edit the date?
Am I correct in thinking not with the tools provided?

2) Can you overflow the experience variable?

Date in long campaign

I've been playing a long campaign for a while now.
I set it up for 200 games.
Still in july 1941 at the moment.
I'd quite like to move it along a few months.

The editor appears to let you...

Re: Buying

It used to be rather variable and you could often "get away" with it. Things have tightened up and another charge has been added on top of the standard VAT.

Listing commercial product as "nil"...

Buying

I was thinking of buying the game.
One big thing putting me off is that I'd MUCH rather buy a download than a cd. I live in UK and if I buy something physical from the US there is a high chance it...

Re: \"pounder\" v. millimeter equivalents

Ah...
I'm 99% certain:

They captured them in sicily.
On dropping by the bridge they found there were italians there and took them on.
Having beat these they found they now had a couple of ATG...

Re: \"pounder\" v. millimeter equivalents

Are you talking about the use of captured Italian guns in Sicily? Ponte Grande bridge?
Because that's the only time they used them I'm aware of.

How about ammo trucks?

I'm now playing a scenario where I have some ammo trucks up one end of the board... and my tanks pretty much down the other. I could potentially get them trucks down there in maybe 5 turns.
There...

Re: \"pounder\" v. millimeter equivalents

It's quite odd really.
Though maybe less interesting to people less ww2 obsessed.
Anyhow and fwiw.

The British used a number of french 25mm ATG in 1940, which weren't too brilliant for that...

Re: \"pounder\" v. millimeter equivalents

BTW. There is an official abbreviation of pdr rather than lbr. 6pdr (eg).

I think the 3pdr was much more likely to be found on ships than tanks by ww2.

British ATG used a much hotter load...

Re: No smoking bug

I moved the ammo truck and it's 2 mortars.
Nothing else was touching the truck but 2 mortars and their transport trucks. So prety much as the game started.

I'm afraid the only saves I have are...

Re: Expanding core

Maybe something in the manual explaining exactly how xp works would be an idea?

Being able to shuffle your organisation around would be very useful. My new OP is J0. Not even on the first screen.

Re: No smoking bug

June 1944, USA, I think the 5th scenario in band of brothers campaign.
Happened to all my 105s and 4.2 inch mortars.
There's an 88 and some infantry at the south of the map and I ran out of shells...

No smoking bug

I think this is an old feature inherited from sp2.
Off board artillery.
If it runs out of HE, can't fire smoke.
Even though it has smoke rounds still left.

I think my work round was to "fix"...

Expanding core

I'm playing the band of brothers campaign.
Tried a couple of alternatives to add to my core.
WHat do you like to add and why?

I'm thinking maybe artillery next time.
I considered an FO but he'd...

Re: aiborne mortars?

OK.

I played along the merderet and there were indirect fire mortars.
So that sort of set my expectations.
They must be regular infantry ones or something.

aiborne mortars?

I'm playing band of brothers campaign.
I bought 81mil airborne moryars at the start of the second scenario ( brecourt manor) but they don't appear when I try and call indirect bombardment.
What's...

Save game editor

Is there a save game editor?
I've played sp and spwaw off and on for years.
I occasionally like to edit save games.

Failing that, is there a file spec for save games?
I could reverse engineer...
